HRM

What is HRM?

To simply put it, we can say that HRM (Human Resource Management) is the process of managing people in organizations in a structured and thorough manner or we can say that HRM helps to bridge the gap between employees’ performance and the organization’s strategic objectives.

This covers staffing, retention, pay and clerks setting and management, etc. But whatever definition we take to answer “what is HRM” we know it’s all about the people in the organizations.

Importance of HRM

Human resources are the most valuable assets of the organizations and are considered as their strength.

Phil Jackson said “The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team”.

Lawence Arthur “Larry” Bossidy- the ex-CEO of AlliedSignal and famous American author had once accurately said- “I am convinced that nothing we do is more important than hiring and developing people. At the end of the day, you bet on people, not on strategies”.

That is essentially what HR managers do- they bring people to the organization who can prove to be an asset, who can add value to the company and contribute to the overall success by working to their fullest potential.

American writer Elbert Hubbard had said “One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man”. This quote is now more relevant in the digital age. A good HR manager’s job, rather, duty- is to hire extraordinary talent.

HRM COURSES

The significance of HRM courses can be pointed out in 3 main contexts namely organizational, social, and professional.

Organizational:

Strategic management: This is a key aspect of any organization.

HR managers run strategies to ensure that the organization reaches its business targets on time, as well as contributes significantly to the decision-making process, which includes evaluating the performance of current employees and making predictions for future ones.

Professional:

HR professionals help develop people by promoting teamwork and boosting team-spirit among the employees.HR professionals also help in reducing costs, such as recruitment and retention.

They are trained to conduct efficient negotiations with potential and existing employees. Thus, these professionals help provide a healthy environment and incentives for utilizing creativity.

Training and Development:

These professionals also contribute to training and development programs, they also play a vital role in contributing to the growth of employees within the company hence strengthening employer-employee relations.

Social:

This is related to providing the satisfaction of personnel in the organization. This is usually done through interactivity with employees, conflict management, establishing a healthy work culture, etc.

Eliminating the waste of human resources through the conversation of physical and mental health.

The growing use of LinkedIn for Human Resource Management

The rise of LinkedIn has become a great network point for job seekers, recruiters, and employers for the human resource field.

This Professional networking site has transformed how employees engage with one another.

People use LinkedIn to display their resumes, search for suitable jobs, and enhance their professional reputation by posting updates, connecting and interacting with other people.

It has become the Best social media tool for business and professional networking sites nowadays. As a result, it’s clear that LinkedIn is a part of every HR professional toolkit.

Human Resource Managers use LinkedIn for the following five key things

As management guru, Tom Peters said “Everyone has a chance to be a brand worthy of remark”

1. Building their personal brand — Personal branding isn’t just for rock stars and CEOs. LinkedIn provides you a number of ways like creating your profile (your experiences, your education & your skills), adding media to your profile like articles, slideshows, and videos, Status updates, etc.

2. Promoting your company’s culture-

LinkedIn is a great platform to showcase how the people at your company work, how your company treats its employees, what incentives they receive, how the company conducts various programs that help to boost the morale of the employees, etc.

3. Using groups to expand their network

Groups are a good way to expand professional networks on LinkedIn. It helps people from different parts of the world to connect with each other, interact, share ideas, etc

4. Using LinkedIn for research

LinkedIn can be used for research purposes like surveys, polls, opinions, etc. Since it is very easy to find relevant professionals and experienced experts on LinkedIn it is one of the easiest ways to reach out to people for research.

5. Investigating paid LinkedIn solutions

It is obvious that the paid version will obviously have something more and something better than the free version- LinkedIn’s paid solutions offer more features than the free version. For example the Premium users can view other people’s profiles in private mode and can still see the names of those who viewed their own profile which is not possible for free users as once the free users use private mode, even they are unable to see who viewed their profile.

How much do the Human Resource Management professionals earn?

Human Resource managers, on an average earn approximately 7–8 lakhs per annum. Freshers or candidates with little or no experience may earn around 3 lakhs a year and those with several years of experience usually get paid around 20–25 lakh per annum depending on the type of the company where they work and the type of work that they are supposed to do.

The career has a great demand in India especially due to the n number of upcoming start ups and expansion of multi national companies in the country.

How do the HRM jobs at top companies in India look like?

We’ll give you a few examples so that you can get an idea about the HRM job market-

Cipla hires people with an experience of anywhere between 1–13 years and the salary given to the managers is between 6–24 lakhs depending on the seniority level of the position.

Tata Consultancy Services hires employees with an experience of 2–19 years and the average salary for their HR department is 11–12 lakhs per annum.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited have opportunities for freshers as well as highly experienced professionals and the standard salary package offered by the company is of 9–10 lakhs and can go up to 19–20 lakhs for top employees.

What does the future of the HRM jobs look like?

The post-COVID scenario for HRM will see several dynamic changes in the way the HR departments of the companies work in India. With increased remote hiring processes and virtual interviews being preferred over in-person interviews, the HR managers are expected to stay updated with the know-how about the latest hiring technologies. Also, due to the current uncertainty surrounding jobs throughout the world, the HR managers are now expected to be more considerate than ever towards the employees while also ensuring that productivity is not drastically affected.

Now, more than ever, the HR managers are expected to put the “human” in “human resources”…

Apart from the changing structure, the demand for HR jobs is probably not going to go down especially with so many new small business companies being born during the pandemic.

The best way to predict the future is to create it — Peter Ducker

The future of information technology in the 20th Century was equivalent to a child’s future and the boom in the 2000s, the same child doing a bachelor’s degree. The boom of this industry was necessary and important for human civilization to progress. There are many fields in information technology that can make you rich! After all, that’s what we want.

Jim Rohn, a self-made millionaire at 31 said-

Formal education will make you a living, self-education will make a fortune.

Everyone goes through school and colleges and earn degrees and then go work at a job that is so meaningless that they feel like they have no purpose in life. The things you learn on the internet is valued far more than what you learned from school. For example, you learn Python from an online course, do a few projects, get a few certifications and get a job. Since you learned Python on your own as compared to learning from a course in a University, You insert value to the work you do, by learning Python you provided value to your skills as a Python Coder and you are proud of it because you accomplished something that is pretty difficult.

In a 2010 review, Brent D. Rosso, Ph.D., and colleagues noted that finding meaning in one’s work has been shown to increase motivation, engagement, empowerment, career development, job satisfaction, individual performance, and personal fulfillment, and to decrease absenteeism and stress (Research in Organizational Behavior, 2010). — More than Job Satisfaction, by Kirsten Weir.

Going by the example if you add value to your work, it balances your mental health and the quality of life gets better.

Obviously, if you take a few of these courses, you won't get a job but at least now you have the skills to apply at a place of your choice! Kaggle is a great platform for Data Scientists and Coders to compete and there are many free projects that you can work on and earn money too! You can always go online and learn things but if you don't apply them, it will all go to waste so when you finish your online courses, don't go on to the next one. Apply your skills or your learning at an internship or an online project, you will get experience too and it will be great for your CV(Curriculum vitae) too.

Coursenator has segregated these 12 courses into different topics to make it easy for you to navigate. We have got some professional certificates and courses from Google provided by Coursera.

How to get Data Scientist jobs in 2021

To answer this question, allow Coursenator to take 4 minutes of your life. Data Science is used to gain insights and knowledge from different types of data, from this knowledge your ability to get Data Science jobs will increase by 80%, Since I cant spoonfed you every step, you have to figure out small things by yourself.

The following example will help you understand better what Data Science can do in the 21st Century.

Data Science in marketing

In the business world, how would you sort through the purchasing data to create your marketing plan? You enforce data-driven marketing campaigns to predict customer behavior and preferences. You can then use these insights to offer a more customized personal experience and for specific targeting of your audience. The possibilities of using Data Science in marketing are endless, maybe you learn Data Science and develop new methods of sorting through data which can get you profits, bonuses, promotions, and a chance to start something of your own.

Just like marketing Data Science can be applied to anything you can think of, In simple words, if you analyze any data you have gathered you can find out ways to make the process more efficient and/or profitable.

Here are the 10 expertise in Data Science and will help you choose one.

Next, I will explain the process of becoming a Data Scientist.

The 5 golden steps

  1. Learn a programming language( ‘Python’ or ‘R’)

If you don’t know what python is I would recommend this article, you can skim over it and come back. R is the same as Python but it is used in statistical analysis and graphing, whereas Python can literally do anything, from game development to web building, to website scraping.

You can learn Python here with an additional project

and you can learn R here for Data Science with another applied learning project.

(There are many courses on Python and R for Data Science, Contact us [Coursenator] or scroll down below to view the courses!)

If you want to exercise your basics I would recommend this book to hone your skills until you become a beast in Python and this book in R for Data Science.

  1. Learn Data Science

The second part of your journey to becoming a Data Scientist is to learn the basics of Data Science, there are multiple things but I won't bore you with the details but here is a course for Data Science in Python and Data Science in R.

  1. Discover case studies and work on projects

Once you get a hold of it, you should explore and research the following topics to get a hold of the process.

Data Science is an active, practical field of work and in order to perfect your skills, you need to get hands-on experience by which you can gain true knowledge of Data Science.

By actively working on these common projects you will find basic problems that you will face in the field and start working on your approach to solving them. It’s all a game of application, think outside the box and figure out where and how you can apply Data Science to your activity/project/work/hobby.

  1. Achieve your certification and start building a portfolio

By working on projects and case studies, you build your online presence on sites like KaggleGithubLinkedin, and others. This will help you get Data Science Jobs.

In the 21st Century, job recruiters rarely hire people through the old fashioned way, through these online sites, your projects will sway them in your direction and increase the chances of you earning $100,000 per year!

You can shape your portfolio on the basis of your interests, for example, if you like machine learning, you need machine learning algorithms, you can also work on solving a business problem with Data Science as I mentioned at the beginning of this article.

  1. Take part in coding competitions

If you want to master this field, Hackathons are the best way of doing it. Kaggle allows participation in Data Science competitions, you will get an in-depth experience of how to solve Data Science, and then you will be a beast in this field of work. Here is a video on how you can enroll in a Kaggle competition.

I have explained, how you can become a Data Scientist by starting with online courses and continue your way forward by working on live projects, building a portfolio, and participate in Kaggle competitions.

In the end, it’s all about hard work, you need to have determination, resolve and if you follow all of these steps correctly and efficiently you will have a boost in self-confidence that will help you in your career and your personal life too.

These are some of the best nanodegree programs which will get you certified to be a data scientist, and I say with 100% accuracy if you bag one of these, you will get a job on the internet by which you can begin your journey of becoming a successful Data Scientist without actually going to a university. If you have followed every step efficiently and with consistency, you will land a job like buying a pack of chewing gum, as the metaphor defines, you may not get the best-flavored gum the first time, you have to travel far (in life) and achieve that success you have been dreaming of

Kickstart your E-learning Business by reading this short article on what is White Label PLR Licensing and how you can get one.

Ever heard of White labeling of online courses?

Let's give you a quick definition of what do we understand by this term.

https://miro.medium.com/max/750/1*FdEiFjl0cp43aqO8jx9mAA.png

White label products are sold by retailers with their own branding and logo, but the products themselves are manufactured by a third party.

OR

A white-label service is one produced by a company (the producer) that other companies (the marketers) rebrand to make it appear as if they had made it.

You understood what a white-label service is, Now let’s talk about how it can help you become rich.

Learn Licensing

https://miro.medium.com/max/563/1*YDlv7axhuZZ5XXb0QmiyOA.jpeg

Licensing can save you a lot of time, money, and effort in creating the course and why not buy them if you can even sell them the same day you license these courses. By applying this method to your business, you can get success in a short period of time.

PLR and white label licensing is essentially the same thing. There is one important point for you to keep in mind. With traditional white label licensing, you can usually brand the products as your own. In the case of courses, Alex or other instructors sometimes appear in the videos so you can say that you simply partnered with them and use their established personal brands to build your credibility.

The PLR (private label rights) license allows you to acquire the E-learning courses at a way lower cost than if you had to take the courses on your own or if you had to pay someone to create the courses from the start.

Alex provides you with top hat White label PLR courses with a license.

Where can you get these PLR courses?

https://miro.medium.com/max/675/1*LvhDhPa_FIxmfuYZftdZfQ.jpeg

This is far better than any affiliate marketing model because you will get to keep 100% of the lifetime revenue that you will be simply able to generate. With a commission-based affiliate model on Udemy, you only keep 40% of your sales.

Topics that will be covered in the courses are:-

— Marketing including Social media marketing, Facebook Marketing, SEO Marketing, Business Planning, Business Strategy, and much more

How are you able to buy or sell a Udemy course?

Here’s an issue which can tell you ways by which you will be able to get into one of the fastest-growing, most lucrative, and hottest industries right now, and that too from the comfort of your home!

How can one start their own Elearning business?

The eLearning industry is one of the quickest developing, generally rewarding, and most well-known businesses at the present time. The eCourse industry is a piece of the eLearning industry that manages to sell courses, and it is one of the quickest developing sections of the general eLearning industry. At the point when you permit the courses, you promptly get into the eCourse industry without purchasing recording hardware, shooting, making courses, and going through weeks or months to dispatch your first course.

The challenge many people face is that they can’t make great courses on well-known points. Regardless of whether they do make great courses, they can’t sell their online courses. To assist you with comprehending those difficulties Alex made a possibility for you where he can mentor and guide you through the way toward beginning your own beneficial eLearning business. To study it, look at this article on the most proficient method to begin an eLearning business.

How E-Learning has completely transformed the way in which learning is imparted to students.

https://miro.medium.com/max/2000/1*d0BKahIzDEVNRDtxSP3W-A.jpeg

Coursenator

Intoday’s world of rapidly growing technology, the concept of e-learning has exploded in popularity. But this has now become increasingly important with the high-speed broadband internet widely available.

E-learning is like an umbrella that is used to describe a variety of electronic ways that enables a user with access to education. These ways can be in the form of virtual classrooms, web-based learnings, video and audio recordings, interactive sessions, blended learning, etc. Thus, we can say e-learning is primarily suitable for flexible learning methods and distance learning as well.

Forms of e-learning:

https://miro.medium.com/max/750/1*v-r-gEEH_I_8qkq8f0ZAHQ.jpeg

E-learning can usually be in the form of:

— lesson materials where there is no participation of an instructor, thus student interaction is pure with the materials and programs provided by the educator.

— webinar formats where a live instructor guides remote students through a presentation (using screen sharing). This helps the educator/instructor respond flexibly to specific concerns of students.

BENEFITS OF E-LEARNING

This concept of e-learning has numerous benefits for both those undertaking them and the organizations as well.

https://miro.medium.com/max/900/1*yI17KwbQKodh-pR5dQZmpg.png

FLEXIBILITY

With downloadable material all over the internet and a lack of systematized timetable, people can now fit the learning around their work and family life. They can approach online courses in a way that works best for them.

24/7 availability to students, who can access the course from any location and the time of their own convenience and work through it at their own pace.

This flexibility applies to the organizations too, where the staff members can work on courses without having to take away their valuable time from work.

Also, facts suggest that online courses usually require 40–60% less employee time than learning the same material in a traditional classroom setting.

COST-EFFECTIVE

In comparison to traditional teaching methods or face-to-face teachings, e-learning is remarkably cost-effective.

For example, if we compare the costs of an MBA program in the both the US and EUROPE that costs students around $100,000 online MBA programs can be bought from the top Universities/institutions/academies in small chunks of the amount in around $200-$2000 and some of them even available for free as well.

MONITORING

One additional benefit that e-learning provides to organizations is the ability to monitor student activity, track record results on assessments, etc. and report back to the designated managers within the organization.

This makes it a unique benefit of e-learning as it becomes very easy to see exactly who has studied the lesson material and whether they have mastered the course objectives or not.

ENGAGEMENT

This is one of the most prominent features of e-learning in today’s time where evidence shows that, when not asked to sit in a room for hours, engagement greatly benefits.

This is a proven fact that E-learning increases your retention rates to 25–60% in comparison to the traditional classroom settings where retention rates are about 8–10% only.

Also, online learnings are all about self-paced learnings, without having to wait for others.

E-learning participants learn nearly five times more material than face-to-face teachings.

INTERACTION LEVELS

Nowadays technology has reached a level where the interaction levels have become massive -whether it is Skype for video calls, Zoom for business users and work-related meetings, shared document editing, or even the fast messaging services like WhatsApp, they bring the learner and the course educator closer together.

Thus, we can conclude that e-learning can tackle some of the most restrictive problems with these self-paced face-to-face online training courses.

Therefore, with the shift to online learning, it has become vital that institutions don’t just share academic content through the internet files, students need the support of their learning communities and thus it is now necessary.
